"Great is the faithful love of the Lord...His compassions begin afresh every morning." Lamentations 3:22-23
I know for me personally this morning, God is here with me, as I enjoy the beauty and peace of the lake in Northern Minnesota.
Hearing God speak to me thru the sounds coming from the lake, with an occasional fish jumping out of the water,
or a distant call of the loon, or just the simplicity of hearing the gentle waves as they greet the shoreline.
My dad, when he was alive, referred to this part of Minnesota as "God's country". Can you believe it's taken nearly my
entire life to understand what he was talking about? As I sit here, I really feel like I'm sitting here looking at bits and pieces
of Heaven - or what it might look like at least. I'm sure my dad's own heaven looks just like this. I can almost visualize him
sitting on at his own little lake cabin, only to get up, walk down to the dock, fishing pole in hand and take a boat out to
catch all those fish he didn't catch here on earth. I imagine how much as peace he is, fishing and glorifying God!
What a picture to think of!
The tranquility that can be found in nature is something technology cannot even begin to replicate. Ask yourself this -
where do you find yourself closest to God? He really can be found throughout nature, if you take the time to notice and listen.
Take a drive out of the city, get out of your car and just sit in a field. What do you hear? The birds might be chirping - a delightful
sound and song to God himself. Or perhaps you hear the rustle of the wind hitting the trees or grass fields - can you imagine, for
a moment, that this is God using his breath to whisper to you? Look up - what's in the sky? Do the clouds fill the sky? Or perhaps
it's a beautiful colored sunset that fills your view - only God could create such beauty! And just think - Heaven will be even more
beautiful than what we see here. Earth is just a "taste" of God's glory!
Take some time today, tomorrow or this week and just allow God to speak to you in ways you might not have considered.
Take time to breathe in His presence and let him bring you peace.
