Did you know that when a leopard is born, it has no spots? A leopard cub comes out naked, as you will. They rely entirely on their parents for food and protection from their enemies, who view them as an easy target. As they grow, their spots begin to come out in full color. A leopards spots allow it in many ways to stay “hidden” from their enemies, and their prey.
Much like leopards, when we are born, or even re-born we are naked. We rely on our mother and father to clothe and feed us. The same can be said for when we are re-born into Christ’s family. We are naked, making us fragile – perfect for the enemy to devour, if he gets a foothold. We must rely on our heavenly father, God, to protect us thru his word – food for our souls, that helps us grow into a confident leopard for Christ! In doing so, we gain our own “leopard print” – that enables us to hide – hide in his sanctuary.
“For He will conceal me there when troubles come; He will hide me in his sanctuary, He will place me out of reach on a high rock.” Psalms 27:5.
Our “print” also puts us at an advantage to seek out our enemies who may seek out to harm us.
”Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me.” Psalms 27:6.
We earnestly seek God to help us stay hidden.
“Rescue me form my enemies, Lord; I run to you to hide me.” Psalms 143:9. and Psalms 94:22, “The Lord is my fortress, my God is the mighty rock where I hide.”
Back around 2018, wearing Leopard print became a fashion statement. When it’s used in female clothing, it signified a sense of independence, or confidence depending on the item of clothing or accessory.
Here’s something to consider: when we gain our leopard print, or in a different term, our “God print” we lose our independence, which is distant from God, or earn our confidence IN God?
“My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!” Psalms 57:7.
It took me a few years, but I finally started wearing leopard print clothing, and I’m now the proud owner of several pieces of clothing featuring those black spots. It doesn’t necessarily make me feel independent or confident by any means. But if I were completely honest, I’ve had my “God print” for many a year in my life.
Truthfully - the confidence you can find in Christ is more than any piece of clothing can give you. What’s holding you back from wearing his print?
